James Jeans Twiggy Legging in Bon Age Full Front

Spring is finally upon us and I am loving all the spring denim I’m seeing. I was stoked when James Jeans wanted me to review some of their newest styles from their spring collection. James Jeans is one of my fave brands of denim. No matter what style I choose, the fit is always consistent. The jeans fit like a glove and the look is so flattering. That’s why I am so in love with the James Twiggy Legging in Bon Age.

The “Twiggy” is James Jeans signature legging. It comes in a variety of washes and prints. This is the first time I’ve seen a distressed Twiggy style and I am loving it. I’ve said in my reviews before that distressing is not always done right. Sometimes the distressing on a style of denim can look too deliberate. The best distressed jeans look natural –like they’re a vintage jean that has been lived in for years. That’s exactly what I thought about this style. There were just the right amount of distressing on the legs, and in the perfect places.

What I loved most about this style though, was the fit. I’ve reviewed the James Jeans Twiggy style on Denimology twice before (HERE and HERE), so I’m used to the body-hugging fit. However, this was the first time I noticed that the jeans made my long legs look even longer! That made me quite giddy. I think my legs are my best asset, so I love a jean that will accentuate that. The front rise of this style is 8.75″ and the back rise is 13″. That is the same as the other Twiggy styles that I’ve reviewed, so I’m not sure why this style made me feel more elongated. However, I won’t complain because I really love the look of these jeans!

Another thing that I was quite surprised by was the fabric. This style of denim is comprised of 98% cotton and 2% elastin, which is exactly what the other Twiggy styles were comprised of. However, I felt that this style felt more snug and it didn’t feel as stretchy as the other Twiggy pairs I had tried in the past. I think it may have to do with the fact that the other styles were not a true denim (they were a coated style and a printed style). This style is a true blue denim and therefore the material is slightly thicker than the others. The material was also very soft. This style runs true to size (like most James Jeans styles). I am wearing a size 27.

I love the mid-rise because I feel it not only helps to elongate the legs, but it also is perfect when you want to tuck (or half-tuck) in your shirt (like I did with my vintage shirt in these photos). I also love the wash of these jeans. I think it’s a perfect medium blue wash and it has nice fading down the legs. I think it’s the perfect style to wear during the spring and summer months. These photos were taken a few weeks ago, so the weather was still a little chilly. The weather is now warming up nicely in FL now though, so I can’t wait to style these with an easy tank, some long layered necklaces, and a great sandal.

I also have to say, for a “legging” it really didn’t feel like a typical legging. The ankles weren’t tight like they are on typical denim leggings. I loved how the fit was body-hugging, but not to the point where it looked “painted on”. I’ve tried denim leggings in the past that had material that was too thin and they were too body hugging, so the look wasn’t very flattering. I also love how this style was a bit loose around the ankles. If you notice, it isn’t tight around my ankles at all. There’s nothing worse than taking off your skinny or legging jean at the end of the day and it gets stuck around your ankles because it’s too tight.

I really can’t say enough good things about the James Jeans Twiggy Legging in Bon Age. I think it may be my fave James Jeans style yet! I loved the way this jean made me look and feel — dare I say it made me feel a bit sexy?? I loved how long my legs looked and also how it made my bum look. I think if you’re new to the James Jeans brand, or if you are after a nice skinny or legging style then I would definitely give these a shot. The fit is awesome and you can wear these with a variety of tops and shoes!
