Paige Rikki Denim Shortall in Gramercy - front view

Are you guys excited about summer?! I totally am! I love the warm weather, bright sun and most of all its casual and laid-back vibe. Here by the beach it seems like shorts are the only bottoms people have in their closets during those few months 🙂 With that said, I’m always looking to bring some more variety into my summer wardrobe and the Paige Rikki Denim Shortall in Gramercy is a great way to do that!

I spotted the Rikki after reading Lisette’s post about Paige’s mini collection of overalls and was very excited to review them. I got mine in the Gramercy medium blue wash which is a great one for summer. Authentic whiskering and all-over hand sanding give it a unique vintage-y feel without making it too busy. It is effortless and versatile and will work with a wide range of colors as well as with many different prints.  If you would like something a bit dressier check out the Rikki in Vintage Black – a beautifully “aged” black wash with subtle highs and lows.

This shortall’s fit is based on Paige’s popular Jimmy Jimmy Boyfriend Shorts. It’s quite roomy through the hip, thigh and waist and is slouchy while not baggy. Although it’s relaxed it still has a clean look and doesn’t come across as sloppy or messy. The wide 24” leg opening with rolled-up cuffs is very flattering and makes your legs look much slimmer. The long back strap is narrow and curved to follow the line of a woman’s body which gives the illusion of an hourglass figure while the relatively low rounded V-shape neckline adds a cheeky element to the piece. The 6” inseam (uncuffed) gives you plenty of options to adjust the length to your personal taste; I definitely like a shorter, sexier look.

The Rikki is made of a medium-weight slubby 98% cotton and 2% spandex denim. It has a nice, soft “hand” and feels good and comfortable on your skin. In general everything is well thought out to make this shortall super comfy; the seams are done with soft silky threads and are as flat as possible so they are not bothersome when wearing it.

When ordering this piece keep in mind that it is pretty roomy. For example, if you are in-between sizes I would recommend going with the smaller one or you can also size down if you prefer a slightly slimmer look; it really all depends on what you like. I got the Rikki in my usual XS and am happy with the way it fits.

I love the overalls/shortalls concept for summer; so fresh and cool they are a nice alternative to simple pants and shorts. Wear them with a tank and flat sandals when you feel like being casual or pair them with a chiffon blouse and wedges for a dressier, more chic look. You’ll be stylish and cute no matter how you play them up. The Paige Rikki Denim Shortall in Gramercy is definitely a great choice if you decide to give this one-piece trend a try; I am sure you’ll see how much you’ll enjoy it!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
