Levi's® Authentic Trucker Jacket in Rosebud Blue Review Main

To continue our celebration of 100 Years of women’s denim at Levi’s®, today I’m reviewing their Authentic Trucker Jacket in Rosebud Blue. Is there anything more classic (and more timeless) than a denim jacket? A Levi’s® denim jacket is one of those “must haves,” a piece you’ll find in “How to Build a Wardrobe” articles or “The 20 Basics You Must Have” lists. It’s as timeless as a skinny black trouser, and as perfect over a summer dress, as it is over a simple white tee. It can be dressed up, or dressed down, and only gets better with age.

I have a few denim jackets in my closet, but always coveted the classic Levi’s®  jacket as the perfect piece for a laid-back cool look. Even fresh from the box it’s screaming for live music, a collection of patches and pins, and stories you’ll tell your hipster kids in 20 years (no? is that just my imagination reeling?)… For years I hoped that I’d happen upon one of these well-loved treasures in a vintage store, but now there’s something infinitely more appealing about the stories being my own, wearing it in just-so. Maybe it’s ambitious, and I’ll never be a rockstar-dotting flower child, but at least I can feel like one, right?

The fit of this Levi’s® denim jacket is what makes it really special – it’s inspired by a men’s jacket, with a slightly oversized fit, and it slouches against the body perfectly, for that “I’ve loved this for a million years” look. The denim has been pre-washed so it’s soft and comfortable and will only continue to break in to become more cozy with age.

This Levi’s® denim jacket is a closet staple because it will stay with you for years, but it will also consistently be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. I like tossing the jacket over a plain t-shirt and torn up distressed jeans, but then I can dress it up over a sundress or skirt for a more sophisticated summer time look.

For this outfit, I paired the Levi’s® Authentic Trucker Jacket with a basic black tee and summery asymmetrical skirt. I then added summery accessories like the straw hat and lace up sandals, and paired the look back to simple gold jewelry pieces from Sweet & Spark, and Svelte Metals. Paired with the gold jewelry, a skirt, and the grecian style sandal, this look is perfect for a more pulled together daytime look, or a summery evening on the town.
