I have always been fascinated by how clothes reflect history. Or should I say, how history reflexes in clothes.
And being the denim addict I am, of course, I am so totally enchanted by this little history about the evolution of the women’s Levi’s® jeans. Personally, I love the 1938 styles shown here below best. I would wear a style like this again in a New York minute! Which style shown here would you like to wear again right now?
Looking at these flashbacks I can so totally understand the fashion tendency of searching the past for new future collections. I think that, especially in denim, we are so removed from the original denim material, it’s really a pity. Everything nowadays is about stretch and spandex and tight fitting. I so wish we would see more of those originally crafted 501’s for men in the goldmines. Honest jeans, real jeans, jeans made to go through a lifetime with us. Hmmm, maybe not a lifetime, LOL, but for many years.
