Triarchy: Motorcycle + Denim? Well, when the owners of Triarchy came to NYC from Canada, and we met for a coffee in Soho, they were telling me a very interesting story about how they became what they are. Actually, they do have a motorcycle manufacturing plant, and that’s how it all started. So how are their jeans designed along with their motorbikes? This is such a unique take on the denim world. Their jeans are born from this, this is where they are inspired and how they are constructed.
“Triarchy is not only known for its denim but part of the brands culture is its custom made vintage-inspired motorbikes. The design process of the motorbikes and their jeans go hand in hand.
While eldest brother Mark is designing a new motorbike he sends Adam (he’s the denim guy) all the material breakdowns that he is working with. From the metal finish to the detailing of the seat, shocks, exhaust etc. These details are then taken by Adam and he incorporates them into the design process of the jeans. Implementing these details into the hardware and finishing of the denim.
The motorcycle bolt is seen on the left pocket of the men’s line (as seen on the diagonal stitching above the pocket). Their custom motorbike – shown above – inspired the hardware and style of the pair of jeans below, which are seen worn by motorcycle designer Mark at their F/W ’14-’15 Runway Show at World Master Card Fashion Week.”
