7 For All Mankind High Waist Pencil Skirt with Zips in Black Jeather Review
Couple years ago I did a post about the totally awesome 7FAM Desert Nite Skirt which is still a favorite in my wardrobe. This Fall the brand came out with a few new skirt styles that are also absolutely fantastic and I am thrilled to review not just one but two of them for you. This is the first one and it’s about the 7 For All Mankind High Waist Pencil Skirt with Zips in Black Jeather.

Hmm… I don’t even know where to start to describe why I love this skirt. First of all, no doubt it looks amazing and is incredibly stylish. I really like the use of black matte coated denim (a.k.a. jeather) and bright silver chunky zippers in the pencil cut and how they transform it into an ultra-modern and trendy piece. On the other hand this classic silhouette balances out the rock ‘n’ roll edge of the fabric and hardware keeping the skirt elegant and sophisticated. Worn with a classy shoe and dressy blazer this skirt is perfect for a day in the office; pair it with a silk blouse, strappy heels and statement jewelry – and you are ready for a night out.

I love the fit of this skirt as it was made to contour and flatter without relying on your body or even stretch in the fabric to do all of the job. Precise, strategically arranged paneling on the back with seaming that follows your natural curves gives your tush structure and support to create a perfectly round behind. No back pockets and placing the zipper along the seams helps to create a flawlessly smooth outline. This is a high-waisted skirt which totally makes sense as it meant to be worn with either a shirt tucked-in or a cropped top – don’t you think you need to show-off those cool zipper details?! Plus it is incredibly complementing for pretty much anybody or should I say “any body”? 🙂 The “moderate” length (as it is described on the 7FAM web-site) takes the hem slightly below the knee fully covering the knee cap which is smart considering that a lot of women have a “thing” about that part of the leg and don’t like to expose it at all.

This skirt is made out of jeather – a light-weight coated denim with the content of 74% cotton, 24% nylon and 2% spandex. It is quite stretchy and has great shape retention so you won’t have to worry about the awkward “bubble butt” look at the end of the day. This material has a sleek, leather-like touch on the outside however on the inside it is soft and silky thanks to its nylon weft.

I got this 7FAM style in my regular size and it is just right – very comfortable with plenty of room for walking while snug enough for this type of silhouette.

I am absolutely in love with this 7 For All Mankind High Waist Pencil Skirt with Zips in Black Jeather and have a feeling that I’ll be wearing it a lot! It also makes me even more excited to review the second skirt as it is just as FAB!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
