7 For All Mankind Pieced Moto Jacket in Jeather and Black Denim Review

You probably already know I am a true fan of 7 For All Mankind and am always excited about their upcoming collections and ad campaigns; I expect something totally fresh, original and thrilling from them and I must say 7FAM never disappoints. This Fall/Winter ’14 for their #7OBSESSIONS campaign the brand collaborated with the beautiful Miranda Kerr and hottie Jon Kortajarena – an amazing couple for an amazing brand! The collection itself is in fact quite awesome; just check out this Pieced Moto Jacket and see for yourself.

I’ve actually already reviewed one of the pieces from the #7OBSESSIONS line, the High-Waisted Pencil Skirt with Zips, which is, by the way, almost the perfect match to this jacket. It would be soooo cool to suit them up together for some edge and drama in your fashion! 7FAM also did a jean in Jeather and Black Denim with long zippers going down the sides and those would also be perfect with this jacket if you are going for the head-to-toe look. But enough about skirts and jeans as the jacket is amazing on its own. You can wear it with practically anything; it will transform an even casual and simple outfit of basic skinnies, solid T-Shirt and flats into a more interesting and stylish one. The combination of black denim with a slight sheen and matte, leather-like jeather creates an exciting contrast of texture and finishes. The addition of bright-silver, chunky zippers on the front closure, pockets and sleeves that distinctly stand out on a dark-colored background really turns this design into an eye-catching and striking piece.

This moto jacket fits incredibly! Its slim silhouette with all of the paneling and darting on the front and back is very structured which helps to outline and enhance your shape. Also slim doesn’t mean tight; it is indeed quite form-fitting however it still has plenty of room for warmer, thicker layers underneath. In fact the first time I tried it on in the store I was wearing a boxy sweatshirt; the look wasn’t the best but the jacket fit well even then. I also like that it is able to “accommodate” even my pretty wide shoulders; I don’t feel any restriction in moving my arms or any uncomfortable pulling on the chest even when the jacket is zipped-up. And check this out – it is partially lined (everywhere but sleeves) which is super cool considering that dark denim sometimes bleeds; now you won’t have to worry about messing up your light-colored top underneath.

Both the jeather and denim in this jacket are quite stretchy and therefore provide additional comfort. They also have nice recovery which will help this piece keep its original shape and avoid problems like stretched-out elbows. The lining has a very pleasant hand feel and seems to be of a nice quality; it looks like it won’t run or rip in the seams as can often happen with cheaper ones.

I was excited to review this 7 For All Mankind Pieced Moto Jacket in Jeather and Black Denim and wrote this post in a heartbeat as the piece was so inspirational. The impeccable fit, gorgeous design and even the fact that it is lined made it my absolute fave! So if you are in the market for a light-weight jacket (and if you are not 🙂 ) you should definitely check this one out – it is 100% AWESOME!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
