Agave Verona Skinny Jeans in Gemstone Stretch Review

The very first time I learned about Agave was when I met my American hubby back in Russia six years ago. I remember asking him about these really cool jeans he was wearing as I didn’t recognize the brand and they just happened to be Agave’s. Since then, I moved to the US and have already lived here for over  5 years but somehow haven’t gotten a pair of my own awesome Agave jeans… until now 🙂 Check out my review about the Verona Skinnies in Gemstone Stretch!

Gemstone is the type of wash that you absolutely must have in your denim wardrobe. Being a simple rinse in a dark indigo shade it is without a doubt the embodiment of versatility. Clean and minimalistic with plain gunmetal hardware and subdued slate grey stitching it is incredibly easy to dress up or dress down. Day at the office, night out on the town or even everyday not-so-glamorous errands such as grocery shopping and walking your dog – these jeans will be great for any of those occasions. This wash is also really flattering and when combined with a great skinny fit will slim you down perhaps even better than diets or the gym J

Verona is a Curvy Cut and while I can’t tell you what it’s supposed to mean exactly I can guess. I’m pretty sure it is about enhancing your curves and in this case they live up to their name – these skinnies really fit you like a glove and give your body a beautiful, toned outline. With the 9” high rise they also nicely flatter your midsection and visually elongate your frame. The inseam is 30” which is the most universal and suitable for just about any height. Even if you are not that tall and the jeans are longer on you it will still be OK as the leg opening is pretty narrow (11”) and the stacking on the bottom won’t be bulky. Conversely really tall girls can rock out the trendy ankle length in these skinnies.

While the denim of Verona is on the heavier side (10 oz.) and pretty thick you’ll be surprised how much elasticity it has unless you know that this blend of 91% cotton, 7% polyester and 2% spandex is their 4-way stretch denim. The ability to stretch in 4 directions really makes a huge difference and gives you that additional comfort that is so good especially in such slim-fitting jeans.

I was given the chance to try a couple of different sizes in the Verona as Agave sent me my usual 24 and a 25 just in case (thanks Agave!). After I tried both I decided to go with the 24 however the 25 wasn’t that much bigger and also looked pretty good on. But of course we are talking about skinnies and so the more form fitted the better! Otherwise if you like to wear your jeans a little looser you can definitely size up without fear of them being too big.

I truly enjoyed these Agave Verona Skinny Jeans in Gemstone Stretch and totally recommend checking them out. If you don’t already have anything like this in your closet, you simply HAVE to give them a try!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
