This weekend everyone from The Kooks, to HAIM, Disclosure, and TYCHO, to Yeezus himself descended upon San Francisco for the 3-day Outside Lands Music Festival. To celebrate, I teamed up to cover Outside Lands Festival Street Style with SIWY Denim – one of my all time favorite denim brands.

For the festival, I rocked a pair of SIWY’s Sasha overalls in Cape Cod – a white denim wash with edgy distressing across the knees. I layered them back to a black tank, chambray button up, and suede desert booties. I loved that the white denim popped out against the sea of black leather bomber jackets, and the surroundings of Golden Gate park. There were multiple nods of approval between all of the ladies rocking overalls at the shows- plus it was great to see how everyone styled them, from layering their overalls under oversized jackets and blazers, to wearing them alone with their favorite band tees and slouchy tanks. Wash-wise I saw pairs in white similar to my SIWY pair, in indigo washes, black, and even a pair of acid wash overalls. Are you rocking this trend yet?

On Saturday, we hit the park running checking out the day’s stellar show schedule, while searching for the best looks in the crowd. If you’re new to Outside Lands, the festival is Northern California’s take on Coachella or Lollapalooza, but colder (San Francisco summer!) and with a hippie-NorCal vibe. This year we saw loads of floral crowns (thanks in part to fave SF start up BloomThat who was petal-pushing stage side), lots of distressed denim, killer overalls in every wash, denim jackets & vests, and even custom denim aprons designed for Esquire’s pop-up barber shop.

My rundown of this year’s top OSL trends:

1. Flower Crowns

2. Overalls

3. Temporary Tattoos (golden beauties from Flash, plus PayPal’s genius tat of the stage line up)

4. Circle-Frame Sunnies

5. Distressed denim (not just indigo, but updating white and black for an edgy look)

6. Studded and embellished outerwear

Check out the photos below to see all of these trends out and about at the festival. What are your favorite looks from this year’s festival?

Special thanks to SIWY Denim for inviting me to Outside Lands, and for dressing me in the season’s hottest trend in the Sasha overalls!
