Hey loves! Back with another maternity denim review for you, if you missed my initial maternity review you can check it out HERE. Today I’m reviewing the 7 For All Mankind BF Fit Slim Leg Maternity Jeans from A Pea In The Pod.
I love a great boyfriend jean. It’s that one style of denim that is most forgiving because it’s usually slightly baggy and definitely gives you the “borrowed from the boyfriend” look, that, when styled appropriately can look super cool and chic. This style I’m reviewing today is not your “typical” boyfriend jean though. It’s slim in the legs and pretty fitted all around. Boyfriend jeans are typically cropped and rolled at the ankles, which this style definitely shows, but the fit is certainly more snug and streamlined than most boyfriend styles out there. I like that about this style though. I own quite a few pairs of denim, so it’s always refreshing to stumble upon a new style I’ve never tried before.
At first I thought, “maybe I need to go up a size?”, because my usual size 27 definitely hugged my curves and felt more snug than how the style appeared to look on the model shown HERE. However, after a day of wear I did notice that they stretched out a bit, giving them an almost identical look and fit to how they appear on the model. I’m glad I didn’t go up a size because I know I would’ve been swimming in them after they had stretched out, and no one wants a boyfriend jean to be THAT baggy.
Like the last maternity jean I reviewed, this style also has the secret fit belly, but this time the belly band is in a nude color, which I love! This especially helps when you are wearing lighter tops. The secret fit belly was very comfortable. You don’t even realize you have a band of fabric over your entire belly.
The denim is comprised of 98% cotton and 2% spandex. The secret fit belly band is comprised of 84% nylon and 16% spandex. These jeans had great stretch and felt comfortable the entire day of wear. As mentioned above, they did stretch out a bit though. Which is pretty typical with most styles and brands of denim. Even after they stretched out I didn’t find the appearance of the jeans to be any less flattering.
The wash is a nice medium blue with minimal fading down the thighs to the knees and a slight fading on the bum. There’s slight whiskering around the front pockets. This jean also has minimal distressing around the front and back pockets.
Overall I’d say that I really like these jeans. I especially like the fact that the style is unique. A slim boyfriend jean is quite flattering and still very comfortable. I think this is the perfect style to easily dress up or down during your pregnancy. I also think that, as we all tend to gain quite a bit of weight during our pregnancy, it’s nice to have a style that is still forgiving and makes us feel slender and beautiful. There are a lot of maternity styles that can give off a frumpy, tent-like appearance, making us look and feel bigger than we actually are. I know the typical boyfriend style is very comfortable, but might not appear as flattering since it doesn’t hug the body like this style does. These 7 For All Mankind BF Fit Slim Leg Maternity Jeans will give you the boyfriend look you crave, without making you look and feel like you actually borrowed your beau’s jeans.
