Allow me to first introduce myself. My name is Jessica, and I’m the newest member of the Denimology family. While my reviews will be new, some of you are familiar with some of my work, as I am the wife, and therefore esteemed photographer/proofreader for the oh-so-dapper, male reviewer – Dustin. 🙂
My first introduction to the denim world via Denimology has been absolutely incredible, as I have not just one, not two, but three awesome pairs of jeans from Parker Smith to review. This review will be on the Parker Smith Laura Ankle Skinny in Waterfall.
A few details first – the composition of these jeans are 91% Cotton, 7% Polyester, 2% Elastane. Honestly, those numbers mean nothing to me, so to translate – these jeans have a fair amount of stretch to them that you can feel immediately. They are super soft and cling to your curves at all the right places. I’ve worn them 3 times for about a total time of 30hrs, and they haven’t stretched out. They have faux front pockets, which I wish all jeans would have. I’m a size 28-30, so in some jeans with front pockets, they don’t always sit flush against my body – NOT CUTE. They’re classified as “ankle” jeans, but as you will notice in my photos, I actually had room to roll the bottoms a bit. I’m a 5’4’’, so only cropped jeans are ever really “ankle” length on me. However, for me, they’re the perfect length. I’ve rolled them and paired them with saddle shoes (seen here) and kept them “as is” and wore them with pumps and converse. However, I think one of my favorite details is the wash. The blue, which I hope translates well in the photos, is, for lack of a better expression, totes amazeballs. It’s almost fall in Stockholm and this shade of blue is going to be my signature color. I propose that Parker Smith copyright this shade of blue and call it PS Blue. I know, I sound dramatic, but just buy them, and you’ll see for yourself. I loves.
So my actual review on the fit is this – yes.
Do they fit true to size – yes.
Are they comfortable without sacrificing on style – hell, yes.
Do I find myself pushing aside some of my holy-grail denim to wear these – yes.
Would I spend my own money on them – TOTALLY, and you should too – here
Do they represent the brand, Parker Smith – yes, they should be the poster child for PS.
I recommend these jeans for women who are tired of squeezing and lunging their way into the skinny jeans that have dominated the market. These jeans give you the look of super skinny jeans with the comfort of your favorite boyfriend jeans. Let’s be honest, if you’re a size 28-30, like myself, when we sit down, what is the first thing we do? We pull up on the waist of our jeans to help keep that little bit of extra “love” where it should be – hidden away. The first thing you will notice when you put on a pair of Parker Smith Laura Ankle Skinny jeans is the rise. These are like the older, smarter sister to the skinny jeans. So, when you sit down, the waist of your jeans won’t slide down. It even helps a bit with your posture, and all of our mothers will be happy to know that we’re finally sitting up straight. 🙂
