I’m excited to share with you that Parker Smith’s CEO, Mary Ellen Moschetti, was named a finalist in the coveted Martha Stewart Living American Made contest today (Monday 9/15). Out of thousands of entries, the downtown Los Angeles based premium denim collection is a finalist in the American Made Style category – the best in American made fashion, accessories and beauty.
Parker Smith was chosen by Ms. Stewart herself and her executive editorial team of Martha Stewart Living including Kate Berry, Style Editor at Large, Melissa Ozawa, Features Editor and Darcy Miller, Martha Stewart Weddings Editorial Director. Criteria for judging included: unique design aesthetic, visual appeal of product, clearly identifiable customer need, compelling logo, use of local processes and engagement of local community.
Martha Stewart Living American Made spotlights the maker and supports the local communities. For more than 20 years, Martha Stewart has celebrated this spirit of innovation in the pages of her magazines and on her television shows. Ten American Made award winners will be announced on October 17. And the culmination of the contest is a two-day conference held in New York City on November 7 and 8th, hosted by the American taste-maker herself, Martha Stewart.
Wow, I am stoked – and here, we have been posting about Parker Smith for a while now! Actually, we were the first blog ever to post about them a few months ago. It is awesome to watch the progress of how far they have come since last June!!
Congratulations, Mary Ellen and Parker Smith, and good luck!
