7 For All Mankind Denim Jacket and A-Line Skirt with Quilted Leather Panels Review

This review is somewhat unusual since it’s not about one but two pieces. Why? Because when I received the 7 For All Mankind Denim Jacket and A-Line Skirt with Quilted Leather Panels I knew right away that they should be featured together – they make such a gorgeous denim ensemble!

I love the mixed media concept for these pieces. The combination of smooth and buttery lamb leather and black satin-like denim looks incredibly chic. The quilted paneling also adds to the elegance and refinement of the design. The bright-gold polished buttons of the jacket really stand out on the dark background and look rich and luxurious. All of these details truly elevate the style of this “suit” and move it out of the typically casual category of denim.

These two pieces not only come together in an awesome outfit but they are also amazing on their own. I totally adore this skirt and its A-line shape which is universally flattering for basically any figure. This is a “true” high-waisted style with a wide waistband that sits right at the level of your belly button so a trendy cropped top is a no-brainer and the perfect match. This skirt is done in a length that is still short and cheeky while not being too skimpy. Being a wife and mom (for my dog-daughter Coco 🙂 🙂 🙂 ) I want to look elegant and sophisticated and not like an aging spring breaker. By the way, aren’t the pockets on this skirt super cute?! They definitely add to the originality of its design.

The jacket has the same constructions as one of 7FAM’s denim jackets that I previously reviewed and absolutely loved. It has plenty of room to wear over chunkier knits however it’s not too big to pair with light-weight tees. It fits perfectly through the shoulders and chest even when fully buttoned which is great considering both can often be problem areas. I also like the wider cuff on the sleeves – it looks great even when folded over only once.

The denim is not really typical; in fact I haven’t seen one like this before. It almost appears to be coated but it’s not. This 74% cotton, 24% nylon and 2% spandex blend has a very compact, satin-like construction and features a glossy, silky finish. As I mentioned earlier the paneling is done in genuine lamb leather which is why both of these garments are dry clean only. You definitely don’t want to ruin them in a washing machine…

Size wise both pieces worked out great for me. Though the skirt seemed a bit too small out of the box it turned out to be perfect (I got it in my regular 24). The jacket in XS fits awesome as well.

7FAM really wowed me this time – their Denim Jacket and A-Line Skirt with Quilted Leather Panels are truly fantastic! By the way if you prefer a pant to a skirt the brand also offers the option of Skinny Jeans with the same paneling that are absolutely to-die-for!
