7 For All Mankind Relaxed Skinny Jeans in Destroyed Deep Indigo Review

7 For All Mankind has an absolutely amazing Fall’14 Collection featuring an assortment of gorgeous styles. Besides the beautiful designs it also includes a couple of new fits that are total must-have’s. The Relaxed Skinny is one of them and I’m stoked to review it for you!

I wear boyfriends’ a ton – it is my other favorite fit besides skinnies and 7FAM’s Josefina has been one of my top choices for a few years now. And though the Relaxed Skinny is not really a “skinny” and in actuality is a boyfriend fit it is quite different from the original one. It features a straight leg with minimal tapering below the knee that ends in a fairly wide 13.5” leg opening. It is meant to be worn with a single wide cuff that has a slightly more rugged appeal vs. a narrow one however if you prefer the typical roll you can do that too. The rise in the Relaxed Skinny is quite long (8.5” on the front and 12.5” on the back) which allows you to wear these jeans higher, at about the same level as you would wear your regular mid-rise pants without losing the slouchy, dropped-crotch effect. I really like that feature as it makes them naturally comfy. By the way, these jeans are done with a zip-fly instead of buttons which is much more manicure-friendly 🙂

The Relaxed Skinny that I received won me over not only with the fit – I LOVE the Destroyed Deep Indigo wash! The rich blue color with gorgeous highs and lows is so pretty and super versatile since this particular shade almost never clashes next to other colors. I have been into distressed denim for a while now and follow the motto of “the more destroyed – the better” so this exact wash couldn’t be any more perfect for me. The cool thing is that although this style features pretty massive holes throughout you won’t have to worry about it falling apart after a few washes. The destroyed area has a thin mesh backing that will protect your jeans from excessive wear and tear.

The denim is on the heavier side and the 11.25 oz. weight is ideal for the Fall/Winter season as well as for the cooler days of spring and summer. The content of 98% cotton and 2% spandex speaks for itself – this fabric is stretchy and soft and provides incredible comfort.

I don’t believe in sizing down in boyfriends’ and always get the size I usually wear in other fits. I want my BF jeans to be roomy and slouchy otherwise what is the point of even getting them? So I got this Relaxed Skinny in my regular 24 and LOVE how it fits!

It’s always very exciting to review new fits from the brands you love especially if they turn out to be so great! 7FAM did a truly amazing job with their Relaxed Skinny and particularly with the Destroyed Deep Indigo style. Seems to me that my Josefina’s and the rest of my boyfriends’ are going to take a rest for a while 🙂

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!

  1. I’m dying to get a pair of sevens boyfriend Jeans but have no idea what size, if I’m a 25 in top shop do you know roughly how the sizes compare? Thanks 🙂
