Hey loves! I’m back with another maternity review for you, and this time I’m bringing you some printed denim. Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to my day-to-day denim I’m all about the classics (light blue, medium blue, dark indigo), but when I want to jazz things up I always turn to printed or colored denim. I love camo denim in particular because it’s really fun to wear and super versatile. Believe it or not, camo denim can be styled with just about any color AND can be mixed with other prints. I love mixing camo print with polka dots, leopard, and floral. Don’t be afraid to step outside the box — have fun with fashion! Today I’m reviewing the True Religion 5 Pocket Olive Camo Print Maternity Jeans from A Pea In The Pod.
Much like the other maternity styles I’ve reviewed recently, this style contains the secret fit belly. This is a hidden belly band that slips over your baby bump and allows for a comfortable fit and also ensures that your denim stays above your hips and secure. This secret fit belly is nude in color, so it makes it extra easy to pair with lighter colored tops (as I am in this photo). The only thing I recommend is pairing it with a top that is slightly longer than what I’m wearing in these photos. That way you can ensure that your belly band doesn’t peek out from under your shirt as mine did. I didn’t realize that my belly band was peeking out until I looked at the photos.
Lately I’ve been wearing size 27 in maternity jeans, but for this style I had to move up to a size 28. The size 27 was a lot more snug than the other size 27’s I have reviewed. I do think that True Religion tends to run a little smaller than other denim brands though, so unless you typically wear this brand and know your size I would recommend going up a size.
The style of these jeans is a true “skinny”. The size 28’s fit snug, but not tight in the least. I was comfortable the entire day of wear. I loved the softness of the fabric in these jeans. These jeans are comprised of cotton and spandex. These jeans retained their shape the entire day of wear and did not stretch out in the least, which made me happy.
I will say that though the style of these jeans claim to be “olive”, but the color in person is more of a grey-ish camo than an olive green. I still think this camo print is just as pretty and as versatile as a true green camo print.
Overall I was pleased with these True Religion 5 Pocket Olive Camo Print Maternity Jeans and I look forward to styling them throughout the fall and winter months. I love wearing camo year round, but something about the fall and pairing it with gorgeous rich hues like navy and oxblood just makes me crave it more. I especially look forward to pairing these jeans with chunky knits and soft silk tops.
So, what’s your take on camo jeans? Are you a fan? if so, how do you style your camo denim? I’d love to know!
