Considered to be a revolutionary of his time, Marciano is a pioneer in more ways than one. Thanks to his creative mind not to mention vision, he has imprinted an everlasting style stamp on denim wearers across the globe. As one of the brains behind GUESS? Marciano really did light the touch paper that was to ignite America’s relationship with denim.
There can be no denying the impact of his legendary design and incredible eye for detail. Some might say he remains the godfather of stone-washed denim. After all, this was his baby and it quickly catapulted Marciano into the limelight. In addition to this, Marciano is a marketing maestro and made a significant impact on the GUESS brand. By injecting his own unique style and comfort, especially into transforming children’s lines, Georges Marciano became the ultimate symbol of the American dream.
In fact, thirty years ago, stone-washed denim was all the rage across American households. This was largely in part down to Marcianos’ inspiration of the faded jean. It was his precise style and focus that catapulted denim into the forefront as more and more of us selected these pieces off the rail. Once again, his legendary denim design saw Marciano pick up several accolades including California Design of The Year Award.
This fashion revolution in denim is still going on today as he embarks on another style adventure. His attention to detail and elegant clothes knows no bounds as he is set to unveil his new collection evoking the same timeless elegance.
Focusing on his signature 1980’s aesthetics, Marciano will be turning back the clock with his distinguishable style and brand that will certainly capture the imagination again. Separated into three main categories; vintage, classic and colored, Marciano’s new label focuses on denim that will feature a myriad of male and female contemporary clothing.
There will be between six to eight different categories to select from in the range including shirts, vests, skirts and dresses. This is coupled with Marciano’s signature five pocket jean which has been given an innovative modern twist.
Come December 15, the leader of “stone washed” jeans will be back on the fashion beat again with his unmistakable look.”
