I am soooo excited to share this denim review for you guys today, from one of my new favorite denim brands, Parker Smith! I consider myself fairly seasoned in the world of denim designers, but with new labels popping up all of the time it can be hard to keep track. Parker Smith denim is right up my ally (I may or may not have a total girl crush on the founder Mary Ellen Moschetti, for her commitment to dressing real women, with real bodies). It’s made in San Francisco, “for all shapes, sizes and body types.” Amen that that. Moschetti believes that “it is far more practical to spend a few extra dollars on the “right” pair of jeans” and I couldn’t agree more– it’s all about the fit and what makes you feel good, and I promise, these Parker Smith jeans deliver!
I received my Parker Smith Kam Skinny Jeans in Indigo Snow in a gorgeous denim tote bag, which was a really lovely surprise (I spent the next minute or two mentally brainstorming all of the ways I could use the bag: gym bag, grocery bag, kids snack bag…). The jeans are really soft and stretchy, hold their shape, and really do feel extra flattering. I don’t know what it is about them, but they fit exactly like you’d hope jeans would fit: not too tight, comfortable, show off your curves in a flattering way. The color is really gorgeous too—a mid-tone almost, vintage blue, that will go with literally everything. Even though I think this lighter shade of denim comes off a bit more casual, it’s still very versatile (no distressing lends to a dressier feel). For some reason I always gravitate towards lighter denim, but I know that darker denim is more flattering; which is one of my favorite things about this brand—they’re on a mission to make us look good.
The fit is a true mid-to-low rise skinny: 8.5” rise, 10” leg opening and a 29 inch inseam. I really love skinnies for all of the shoe options they lend to—heels and flats, boots and wedges. This rise feels perfect for me, really easy to wear and comfortable all day long. I feel like all-day comfortable is an understated value in denim—I have so many pairs that I literally take off the second I get home to change into something more comfortable. Not so with these, they remain just as comfortable after a full day of wear—but also not stretched out either. The 29” inseam is ideal as well, while it may be more ankle length on taller ladies, it hits the top of my foot right where I like it. The fabric on these is 65% Cotton, 33% Tencel and 3% Spandex, and they are the perfect weight—not too thin or too thick.
The Parker Smith Kam Skinny Jeans in Indigo Snow are really a 10 in my book—the comfort, fit, quality and color are all impeccable. If you’re looking for a new pair of jeans this season, I highly recommend these!!
