We @Denimology always love to talk about denim for a good cause. It combines our two passions: do good and always help for a good cause, and, of course, denim!
Mother has created a really awesome and beautiful collection in collaboration with Victoria Secret supermodel, Candice Swanepoel. A portion of the proceeds from the denim collaboration will go to the South African–based organization mothers2mothers, which works to prevent the spread of HIV from mothers to their children.
The collection, which includes seven denim styles, a tee and sweatshirt, a range from high-waisted to skinny jeans with slashed knees, along with appearance of an old-school button-down fly, is dotted with Candice’s favorite era of the nineties, as well as nods to Cindy Crawford’s short shorts in her 1992 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial. “I love that image, so that’s where it all started,” says Swanepoel. “It’s not that dress-up denim—it’s more ‘girl off-duty.’ That relaxed look that was still sexy. They just threw on a white shirt and the jeans kind of did it all.”
