CLOSED Cropped Worker Jeans in Destroyed Blue Denim Review

CLOSED is one of those exciting brands that always keeps you interested. Since I started following Denimology I have always looked forward to each season’s new Lookbook featured on the site and the “Lisette Loves” posts about their special styles (like this one). The pair of Striped Patchwork Pants that Lana reviewed for them last year completely blew me away! The current Spring/Summer’15 Collection is no less thrilling – when I visited the CLOSED boutique in Berlin Bikini I would have bought half the store if I could (only half because the other half was Men’s 🙂 )! Today I will tell you about one of the newest styles in their line – the Cropped Worker Jeans in Destroyed Blue Denim.

This light indigo wash is fantastic for the spring and summer seasons. The powder blue shade with whitish icy shading of handsanding and whiskering couldn’t be any more perfect for a hot, sunny day. The “ripped and repaired” distressed finish of the jeans will keep your look interesting even when worn with a simple solid tee and a pair of sneakers. For a dressier outfit pair them with a sequin tank and a strappy sandal and voilà, you are ready for a night out on the town. Tonal stitching and minimal amount of hardware (really only one button is exposed) gives you a lot of freedom in choosing your accessories without worrying about them clashing with the jeans.

The Cropped Worker is a Girlfriend fit that features a pretty roomy top block and fairly slim leg with a taper. With their long rise you can wear these jeans lower on the waist for a dropped crotch effect (like me) or slightly higher for a more fitted look. No matter what you decide you won’t lose their tomboy vibe. The industrial inspired construction with integrated front and pieced back yokes, larger back and side “tool” pockets reinforce the “work” style of this pant. Thanks to its cropped, around 29” inseam, the Worker doesn’t need to be cuffed like usual Boyfriend jeans however if you prefer to please do. I personally find showing a little ankle a bit more feminine especially in tomboy styles like this.

This jean is constructed of a rigid, 100% cotton denim which means not much “give” so I decided to size up to 25 to ensure a slouchier look. Keep in mind that the Cropped Worker has a slimmer cut than typical boyfriends; my athletically built legs would be totally squeezed without stretch if I went with the regular 24. But if proportionally you have skinnier thighs you can stick to your usual size. Once you determine your perfect fit you’ll find out that these truly are very comfy jeans. The nice, soft denim, smooth inside seams and easy, relaxed construction make me want to hang out in them all day long!

By now you probably gathered that I like the CLOSED Cropped Worker Jeans in Destroyed Blue Denim very much 🙂 They are truly special and have lots of personality. BTW, at this point you should stop reading my post and head out to the store to get a pair of your own!!! xx

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
