An idyllic wedding in a beautiful setting – and everyone wore denim!
Hardly surprising, really, when the bridegroom was Huddersfield artist Ian Berry, who has earned a worldwide reputation for his artwork in denim under the name Denimu. Ian Berry conjures remarkably detailed portraits and urban landscapes using nothing more than discarded jeans. Over many weeks he cuts, stitches and glues using only the varying shades of the fabric to provide contrast and shadow. The effect is amazingly detailed images, with a depth and texture that is hard to reproduce in print and online.
Ian married Sewdish-born Asa Larsson in the village of Haslov, in southern Sweden.
And the invitations – in demin, of course – invited all the guests to wear the iconic blue cloth.
Ian, 31, wore a three-piece denim suit and a denim tie. His beautiful bride chose a traditional white lace gown but accompanied that with denim shoes and denim in her bouquet.
Even Ian’s eight groomsmen got in on the act, wearing matching denim suits and denim Ray Ban sunglasses!
Ian’s dad Eddie, of Netherton, who flew over to Sweden with wife Christine and friends of Ian from school and college, was a little more conservative.
