BLANKNYC on The Fashionably Broke

When a new trend begins or an old favorite re-emerges, it’s often hard to tell just how long it’s going to stick around…will it be seasonable or catch on and stick around for longer? The flare is an old classic that came back this spring, along with a few other looser-fitting styles, as the ’70s boho vibe made a big return. Usually that often goes along with festival season, but as Fall has now hit, the style is still popping up everywhere, even though Fall and Winter are usually the month for skinny jeans and boots! We spotted BLANKNYC on The Fashionably Broke, with one of the Pinto sisters (the blog is run by Natalie and Erika Pinto) rocking a style that isn’t often seen from the brand…you guessed it, a flare! BLANKNYC was HUGE this year with all the distressed and cutoff styles they offered which were seen all over the festival circuit and beyond, making the brand known mostly for their edgier styles. But they’ve rounded out their collections with several classic ones too, including flares. The piece featured here is the BLANKNYC Flare in Vodka Diet, which is styled with a gorgeous white lace blouse on quite the comfortable looking moment.

The BLANKNYC Flare in Vodka Diet seems to be sold out, but there are several similar looking styles still offered! View them all here!

I’ve been quite the denim fanatic for several years now, and am happy to apply this passion to something that I can share with others. I am also a graphic designer/web developer and have done design work for two of the biggest designer boutiques in town, which is partly to blame for the 100 plus pairs of jeans I now own in my collection! It always fascinates me how much can be done with the denim fabric alone, and the constant innovations will always keep me hooked.
