There is something about these skinnies from LA brand L’Agence that I have yet to figure out. As you all know, I am a diehard slouchy jeans person, boyfriends, boy fits, borrowed from the boys….you get it! Of course, there are always some exceptions, and every once in a while I get a real good “denim surprise”.
When L’Agence launched their denim line, here in NYC a few months ago, I was invited to their preview and received a pair of their Margot High Rise Skinnies.
Well, they were hanging in my closet for quite a few weeks before I decided to wear them. Like, OMG they are so stretchy (I’m not a stretch jean lover!), OMG they feel like as if I was wearing sweatpants (I’m not a sweatpants lover, either!)…..so getting to the point: we are talking about an amazing kind of denim here, I had never before tried on anything like these L’Agence jeans. A mixture of sturdy stretch denim with the feel of sweatpants, and the look of a highly sophisticated and classic pair of skinny jeans. Not for nothing, the “subtitle” of these jeans is “The French Jean”!
The color seen here is a dark blue indigo wash, which is such a great alternative to my “almost always” black jeans. I pair them the same way as my blacks, with either my black Joe’s Akasha turtleneck sweater, or, going out at night, with my T by Alexander Wang Lace-Up Long Sleeve Bodysuit and a leather biker jacket.
I have yet to discover what the L’Agence denim is all about, so far I can only tell you that it feels like no other denim material I had tried on before….hello L’Agence, what’s your secret?
You can buy L’Agence jeans at SAKS, Barney’s, and online at Shopbop.
