selvedge jeans

Raleigh’s CEO, Victor Lytvinenko {shown in the image above}, says Kate Spade reached out to Raleigh Workshop independently almost two years ago about a partnership. Initially, the collaboration was going to be with Kate Spade’s Saturday brand. When that brand closed, the partnership evolved into what ultimately created a new style of jeans, which is available at Kate Spade stores in the U.S. and Japan and online.

For the first time, Kate Spade New York presents all three of the brand’s lines together – Kate spade new york, madison avenue, and the newest addition to the family, “broome st.” This latest label offers casual items that seamlessly integrate into her everyday looks and will have products retailing in the $65-$898 price range.

The Kate Spade line incorporates several denim looks including the first collaboration with Raleigh Denim the “broome street Dare Jean.” The Dare Jean comes in raw selvedge from Cone Mills and has 1% Stretch. The Dare is a straight leg cut with mid rise zipper fly and completely designed and produced in the Raleigh Workshop in Raleigh, NC.

Now you can experience the unique feel of a pure selvedge jean with the added comfort of 1% stretch, it is truly amazing and an awesome way out for those of you who previously always shrank away from selvedge and raw because of the unyielding and stiff feel.

We, here @Denimology, are dying to try on these, as we do not have many options to find real selvedge jeans with just a tiny bit of stretch – Well done Raleigh and Kate Spade!  🙂
