Colors are fun, but I often find myself attracted to neutral look, especially variations of black and white. It’s just so classic, and works year round (yes, I don’t care much for the white after Labor Day thing). Last year was interesting in the denim world because of all the looser fits that emerged to compete with the skinny jean, but I noticed lots of variations of cropped styles also came out. The culotte is the classic example, but cropped versions of bootcuts and flares also became trendy (and of course, the boyfriend jean). Here is Harper’s Bazaar Fashion/Features Director Kerry Pieri in 3×1, wearing the W25 Crop Baby Boot in White Cap. This isn’t your ordinary white jean…not only does it feature a favorite detail of mine: raw hems, but it’s also constructed of 10 oz. selvedge denim from Kurabo (Japan). The selvedge fabric blend is made up of 98% cotton and 2% lycra, so it’s got just a tad of stretch for comfort and fit! This jean also hits right between a high and a mid rise, for those who want a mid rise fit but aren’t usually a fan of the style!
