PRPS jeans are the perfect jean for the discerning modern man. Established in 2002 by Donwan Harrel, the first American to bring Japanese denim to the United States, he can be held responsible for starting the rise of Japanese luxury denim in America. As any serious denim head knows, Japanese selvedge is some of the best fabric around, and PRPS leads the pack with some of the most unique, quality pieces around. Here is model Matthew Thompson in PRPS, wearing the Fury Selvedge 6 Month Wash, which is a beautifully washed, “dark, dapper, distressed and distinguished” piece. Strong whiskering marks natural crease points on this elegant deep blue jean, and flows in concertina creases down the back of the calf. Bleaching runs boldly down the outside leg, as if stripped by the sun; and more gently round the subtle treatment on the pockets. A flash of slender braid trims the coin pocket. PRPS‘s unique back pocket fold makes a punchy detail.
Matthew is also wearing the PRPS Plaid Shirt, which is a natural indigo woven shirt with a unique plaid print in an unconventional colorway. Long sleeved shirt features a button down front, two chest pockets and a peak collar. I love how these two pieces go together, no?
