The denim jacket is definitely one of the most iconic pieces in the history of this versatile, popular fabric, and there have been so many beautiful and creative variations of it ever since it exploded in the 80s and 90s. It’s one of those pieces that never gets old, or even very redundant: it is always in style, and yet never wears out its welcome, always popping up with a different and fresh new look. Here is La Petite Robi Noire blogger Roberta Fusco in BLANKNYC, wearing the Denim Jacket in Shadow Boxer. This one actually brings back the vintage feel of its many predecessors of fashion’s past, with a pretty worn in medium blue wash, slight distressing and antique looking buttons. Roberta demonstrates one of my favorite things about denim jackets…they make it more fun to style other types of bottoms in, if you aren’t into the double denim thing! She adds a pop of color with a comfortable pair of coral-colored pants and white sneakers. Instead of dressing from the bottom up, if you wear jeans, dressing from the top down with a denim jacket opens a whole new door to styling up in the morning (or night) before heading out. Denim jackets are also really easy to style up or down! Every lady needs a nice one to compliment and balance out her closet.

I’ve been quite the denim fanatic for several years now, and am happy to apply this passion to something that I can share with others. I am also a graphic designer/web developer and have done design work for two of the biggest designer boutiques in town, which is partly to blame for the 100 plus pairs of jeans I now own in my collection! It always fascinates me how much can be done with the denim fabric alone, and the constant innovations will always keep me hooked.
