The first ever denim show in Vietnam is getting even bigger and more interesting as the date approaches. The most recent addition to this show is Mr. Giovanni Petrin, who is one of Italy’s most globally recognized denim washing experts.
Mr. Giovanni Petrin is a dedicated, passionate man who has lived and breathed denim since 1974. Giovanni’s story is in many ways like the story of the development of denim washing itself. The founder of Diesel, Adriano Goldschmied, experimented with his first stone wash treatment in Giovanni’s laundry. Giovanni then became associated with Luigi Martelli – of the famous Martelli Laundries, an association which continued for over 25 years until 2015. Petrin, along with Martelli and his team, decided to push their Italian creativity and innovation further by experimenting with artisanal techniques including using sandpaper to create the “vintage” look. It was labor intensive and costly but aesthetically the result was unarguably beautiful. With the help of denim influential Renzo Rosso, Diesel’s owner, and Goldschmied, Petrin’s team produced a Japanese-inspired collection, that was constructed entirely by hand. His dedicated team also experimented with the brush robot by Tonello which was designed to automatically treat jeans with brushing. The list of his innovations and accomplishments is endless!
At the Denimsandjeans.com Vietnam show, he is going to hold a very informative seminar titled BLUES REVOLUTION in which he will cover the following points:
1. The Jeans Trends in the recent years
2. New Technologies in Production

4. Research and Innovation.
