J Brand’s fall 2016 collection returns to the original DNA of the brand and focuses on the girl, the jean, and the attitude. Featuring french singer and songwriter, Lou Doillon, the power of the jeans is simply to make her look and feel beautiful. She wears the denim, the clothes do not wear her, and she needs very little to be mesmerizing and unintentionally, yet completely, seductive.

Inspired by the essence of the early 1990’s, sky-high rises, tight cropped flares, soft rigid fabrics and slim body-shaping denim celebrate the female form. A relaxed and eased shoulder is a strong contrast to the long skinny leg. Motorcycle inspired shapes and zipper details influence tops and bottoms.
This nod to the 90’s flows into the mood for hardware re-imagined through the regalia of full dress uniforms. brass closures, head-to-toe leather looks, contrast topstitching, pure indigo shades, and a strong shoulder for jackets and sweaters, bring an elevated approach to utility for the fall 2016 season.
Shot in New York by photographer Matteo Montanari, the campaign was created to run in spreads only for the US market, representing close-ups of “the girl,” the emotional, complicated, sensual side of a woman, and full lengths of “the jean,” the fit, silhouette, and fashion.
I love this new J Brand Ad Campaign – enough of Cara’s, Gigi’s, and Hailey’s. Yes, they are hot, and yes, they are “IT” girls, but can I really identify with them?
Lou Doillon is Everywoman. She loves the same music that I do. She loves the same clothes that I can wear. By choosing Lou as their spokeswoman, I feel that J Brand is speaking to me and the millions and millions like me.
