We all know fashion is all about breaking the rules and taking risks, and that often includes styling apparel that was otherwise made for the opposite gender! Sometimes it sticks and creates something totally cool and new. The boyfriend jean got its name when Katie Holmes once stepped out in Tom’s jeans, and it’s a style that’s still going strong. Menswear as feminine fashion isn’t exactly anything new, so maybe it’s not quite so much of a risk after all. Here is blogger Jacqueline Mikuta in Citizens of Humanity, wearing the men’s Classic Jacket in Wilkes. This piece actually does have a bit of a tailored, feminine fit, with a nostalgic faded, distressed and whiskered medium blue wash. Despite the distressing and worn in feel, it does have a pretty clean look that could be easily rocked by anyone. Jacqueline makes it even more her own by giving it more of a feminine touch with a body hugging dress and some white sneakers to play up the casual appeal. It definitely looks super cute tied around her waist and I’m sure it looks just the same over the dress!
