Many people see cropped styles as fairly hit or miss, or not right for their body type. There are countless guides out there telling you what flatters or what does not flatter your shape, and while most of them are great guides for the most part, sometimes you can wear just about anything and break the mold with just a few tricks! The latest cropped bootcut and flare trend especially shakes things up a bit. Here is Yellow Hats blogger Jessi Webb in the J Brand Selena Crop Boot in Decades, which is a super cute mid rise style with a 26″ inseam and a light blue sandblasted wash. It also features an 11oz 98% cotton and 2% elastane fabric for vintage-like durability and just the right amount of stretch for comfort! Many say cropped styles, especially any that flare out at the hem, can make legs look more stumpy. However, Jessi here is doing something that I was just recently contemplating about in terms of nixing this assumption: pairing them with heeled ankle boots! If you’re taller, you could even go with mid-calf boots. To me, this adds to the leg-lengthening effect of heels and makes things look pretty chic! What do you think?
