Inspired by refined street style, the Parker Smith Fall’16 Collection features seam detailing, indigo paneling, olive and wine hues, and distressing on their classic high rise fits. With a strong emphasis on the hem, Head Designer Selina Tahmasian incorporated several fashion details leaving the hems raw, released, and uneven. Trend driven crops with unique seam detailing such as the Utility Crop and Paneled Crop are new to the collection as well as high rise tailored straights like the Pin Up Straight and Cuffed Straight. The innovative and Eco-friendly Oxgene fabric, which uses less water, less chemicals, and less energy compared to traditional denim, was used for three silhouettes in the collection and in an effort to be more sustainable will be included for seasons to come.
Parker Smith’s Eco-friendly Oxygene denim uses less water, less chemicals, and less energy compared to traditional denim. This innovative fabric has an oxygen finish which allows for the indigo to lighten much faster while using less resources to do so. With this fabric Parker Smith is able to use half of the amount of chemicals and has the ability to substantially bring the color down with alternative techniques such as ozone. Ozone treatment uses natural ozone gases to naturally bleach the denim requiring NO chemicals. By using ozone treatments, the amount of chemicals and water used for a garment is automatically cut in half. The Oxygene capsule includes 3 silhouettes for Fall’16, the Ava Skinny in Saltwater, Kam Skinny in Mysterious, and the Pin Up Straight in Venice and is now available for purchase at www.parkersmith.com.
