Jacey Duprie in the High-Low Frayed Earl Jean

A couple of months ago we wrote about a new take on the frayed hem (a trend we have put at the top of our favorites list): the uneven hem! After all, a trend can only go so far without brands eventually making their own variations of it, right? BLANKNYC has a cute cropped jean finished off with this detail (see here), and blogger Marta Cygan was spotted wearing a more relaxed version of the trend (see that post here). Now, here is Damsel in Dior blogger Jacey Duprie in the High-Low Frayed Earl Jean, another cropped piece at an even lower price point for those who want to take on this style themselves! This one is a mid-rise jean with a skinny fit through the hips and thighs. On first glance it’s definitely more of a casual jean, but denim heads know that fashion is about breaking the rules and having fun, especially in the denim department! Jacey always looks totally chic and dressy in just about anything, including these jeans! We love this variation of the raw hem and can’t wait to see what comes next!

  1. I recall when Earl was one of the high end brands and the jeans were extremely popular.

Do not know the history of the company or why it transposed to more affordable denim…but it is nice they are being mentioned.

  2. I love the length and shape of this crop. The fading on the seat looks like someone sat in bleach. I’m heading to Macys to try these on. If I love them, I’ll dye them I wish that reviews would tell the most important thing to know about stretch denim: does it stretch equally in all directions, including up and down? Ever wonder why you look good in leggings but not in stretch denim? Lack of even stretch in all directions is one answer.

    • How did you like them when you went shopping? Once again I agree with you. Bleached seats are usually not attractive.
