“Our booths attracted many customers with diverse backgrounds and needs. We had many returning loyal customers as well as first-timers. Some were closing deals on Spring/Summer 2017 while others were making their final selections for Autumn/Winter 2017/18.
The athletic style is still growing, and remains a solid favorite, but now comes in additional textures, such as article ‘Spinning’. Darker looks were also in demand, as well as denims with more character in the warp – a definite vintage revival.
Of standout importance was the huge number of companies interested in sustainable fabrics. This represents very good news for VICUNHA, since sustainability is in our DNA. As the world’s largest individual consumer of BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) cotton VICUNHA creates zero landfill.
Not surprisingly, the big hit was three selected garments that we chose from the UdK – University of Arts Berlin students’ project “Denim Otaku” that we ran earlier in the year. Our visitors were totally stoked by the creativity shown by the students in designing with VICUNHA fabrics.”
