One of the best things when summer’s ending – no, actually, the ONLY best thing! – is that we have a good excuse to renew our denim wardrobe.
Shorts, fuhgeddaboudit, ripped and trashed jeans, only if you love feeling icy winds blowing on your legs. But then, what to do? Dark blue skinny stretchy insipid sterile jeans – gimme a break, pleeeaaase 🙁
So we have rounded up some new and EXCITING denim for the colder seasons, more “covered” and more “sensible”, but still with an edge, some unexpected details, and some spunk.
The main trends for this fall and winter are: Rip and Repair, Shadow Effect, Two Toned, Extended Seams, and Oversized.
We hope you enjoy our roundup – and don’t be shy! Leave us some comments below the post!

How much does the time of year influence the shades of denim you wear the most?
I know from this post you do not limit yourself to “Dark blue skinny stretchy insipid sterile jeans.”
Almost, no, totally never, dark blue insipid sterile jeans. Other than that, the only difference is that I am not doing rips in winter because it’s too cold. All other washes, including bleached and whites, all year long, summer and deepest of winter:)
Thanks for replying.?
I like the Helmut Lang & GStar, but I’m over cropped jeans and have my eyes open for similar in to the shoe or to the ankle inseam. I especially liked the cut, drape and marble wash on the Helmut Lang and the back pockets on the GStar.
The other styles don’t look flattering. And their bells and whistles are not so hot.
A pair of well cut dark skinnys with flattering back pockets in a fabric that stretches in every direction and keeps it’s shape is the always elusive urban myth/holy grail, because it’s still what every fit person wants. Rips, patches and frayed hems are easily DIY. Great jeans are very hard to find.
Are oversized jeans just a fuller cut in the same size…they make em big on purpose?
Just wondering if I shed some pounds will I them own oversized jeans?
works both ways:-)
you can either upsize boyfriend jeans and wear them with a belt, or you can buy one of the “ready made” oversized jeans in your regular size. Stay tuned because I will be posting about some individual styles….
I look forward to seeing it.
The helmut lang is on sale now 🙂
