DSTLD High Waisted Skinny Jeans in Dark Indigo Review- Front view

Hey Denimology Lovers! I’m so thrilled to be back with a new review, this time the DSTLD High Waisted Skinny Jean in Dark Indigo shade.

It took mother nature a bit longer than anticipated, but Winter is finally here! These high waisted skinny jeans are gonna help us seamlessly transition our wardrobe from fall to winter.

The main attraction of these DSTLD (“dis’tild”) jeans are the high waisted cut and simple contemporary design. The waist sits a bold 9.5 inches high which is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! With a well crafted high waisted jean, I’m able to pull off all those summer crop tops in my closet without any mid-section showing. I also love tucking in my turtlenecks into the high rise denim for a feminine silhouette. The high-cut shows off a natural waist shape (my favorite asset) and elongates the legs which is something I think we can all appreciate.

This dark indigo shade is subtle, classy, and casual (in my opinion!) The understated indigo hue is paired with tan stitching which I think gives the Los Angeles-made pants a totally classic vibe. Both front pocket areas and front knees are embellished with some tasteful fading, but the rest of the jean is completely untouched making these jeans timeless- AKA you can wear them forever!

I must say the deep shade of these DSTLD jeans combined with the super skinny ankle cut are EXCELLENT for mixing with all types of boots. And just in time for Winter! The slim fit easily tucks into my mid calf boots and doesn’t creep and to bunch at the knee, which is a total pet-peeve of mine. These skinnies also looks fantastic when cuffed at the ankle and worn with some booties as you can see in the photos. Seriously you guys, these jeans were made for boots.

In the gallery I’m wearing a size 28 of this high rise skinny. The ultra lightweight denim is 51% cotton, 36% Rayon, 12% Polyester, and 1% Lycra. DSTLD’s premium denim lives up to our comfy dreams and curve hugging desires!

I recently wore the jeans to a canvas and cocktails event for a friend’s surprise birthday party. Naturally, we were sitting down painting the whole night and I am pleased to say I was comfortable the whole time. Often with denim, I feel discomfort at the waist and sometimes restricted in the legs due to the fabric. Not this time!

  1. When a person feels flattered and comfortable in a pair of jeans that hold shape, basic is fine. The hems can always be sliced to make the look more current. For her, I would slice the jeans off just above the ankle bone, and add a pair of dorsay flats and a drapey light weight crew neck sweater and a long drapey modern (not strucured) blazer.

  2. Hey Misty, how do they fit? I would love to find an option that would replace my Hudson high rise skinnies but im particular about fit. 🙂
