Jean Shop Men’s Slim Indigo Jeans Review-side

Patrick here with another review for Denimology. I am completely in love with my new Jean Shop Men’s Slim Indigo Jeans ! These are some seriously sexy selvage denim. Jean Shop has created yet another pair of jeans that have all the right moves. From the highest quality Japanese selvage to the smart & subtle design elements this style of denim screams with fashion appeal. Lets get down to the details in this Jean Shop Mens Slim Indigo Jeans Review.

The quality is evident right from the start. Straight out of the hand stamped canvas bag comes a pair of jeans that exemplify craftsmanship. You can tell these were hand made with the highest attention to detail and workmanship. The 16.5 oz. Japanese denim is stiff and sturdy, the weft and weave giving you a nice textured hand to the touch. These jeans are just begging to be broken in. The color is a deep raw indigo that will wear nicely over time. All the top stiching is contrasting orange and yellow, something I haven’t seen before and thought wildly unique.

The subtle details make them even sexier. The back belt patch is leather with hand stitched “Jean Shop” on it. Even the buttons on the fly say Jean Shop. All of the studs are backed with the signature Jean Shop logo of a pig. The selvage edges are orange and the inside label is orange. What a surprise to discover orange lined front and back pockets too! Double lining the back pocket is a terrific way to add durability and functionality. These NYC designers have made some clever and understated but smart choices.

Jean Shop Men’s Slim Indigo Jeans Review-back detail

They are definitely a slim fitting fashion jean. My 32 waist fit snug but with enough room even after laundering. The rise is a low 10 inches with a leg opening of 15 inches. I Still have plenty of flexibility. The back and side yoke stitching gives great definition to your shape. I’ve worn them for a few days now and find that although they are a high fashion jean, I can also wear them dressed down.

I will definitely have a long term relationship with my Jean Shop denim. My jeans are already breaking in and taking on a personality of their own. I’ve got some nice crackling in the fabric behind the knees and some whisking and crinkling is starting to happen on the upper thighs. The indigo color is starting to change as well. I cant wait to see what these look like a year from now.

I would highly recommend you try Jean Shop products on to get the best possible fit as they run to true fashion sizing. Some slight shrinkage and loss of color will happen if you wash them. And with any selvage denim follow the care instructions carefully to preserve the raw characteristics. On the Jean Shop blog page is a great tutorial on how to care of your denim. You’re gonna wanna pamper these babies and take them out for many a night on the town!

There is some great undercover sex appeal to these handcrafted jeans. I’m excited to share my love of selvage denim and what Jean Shop has created. If you wanna fall in love as I have with a great pair of selvage jeans, check out Jean Shops Men’s Slim Fit Indgio Jeans here.

  1. the jean shop web site is an example of how a badly displayed product can stop a sale in it’s tracks. Just show the product. Clearly and honestly from all sides and tell us if you are using a model that isn’t the standard height and size. It’s not that hard.

Good news is they make women’s jeans and their mens selvage go down to size 24. The concept drawings for the womens skinny jeans are ugly. I may order a pair of the mens.
