distressed jeans

American Actress and model, Krysten Ritter, was spotted smiling happily, as she was arriving at “The Defenders” set in New York City.

She was dressed in a pair of mid rise straight leg jeans with distressing details along the front of the legs. The jeans are in a medium, rather on the darker side, wash, and the distressing looks a bit too artificial on these jeans. Darker wash jeans are kind of risky to work on – if they are not perfectly and “believably” distressed, they tend to look a bit cheap, like as if the brand didn’t put too much effort in creating the jeans, just wanting to add some rips because they are fashionable.

Personally, I would never wear a pair of jeans like these. Distressing for me is synonymous with aged, vintage, lighter wash denim.

Kristen added a cropped light blue hoodie from Beyonce’s sports line collaboration with Topshop, Ivy Park, layered over a black t-shirt. This sweatshirt is quite cute, an for those among you who don’t do cropped, these sweatshirts also come in regular lengths, and in a few different colors. You can check them out at Nordstrom.

If you’re looking for some “verified” distressed jeans in a darker wash, try the Vigoss Chelsea Destroyed Skinny Jeans, or the Rag & Bone/JEAN Dre Slim Boyfriend Jeans.

Note from the editor: we have been informed that Krysten’s jeans are a pair of Level 99 jeans, the Riley High Rise Jean in Sea cliff – check them out at the Level 99 website. As a matter of fact, they look much better on their website than on Krysten, as the wash is quite a bit lighter blue.

  1. Rag & Bone/JEAN Dre Slim Boyfriend Jeans are a great suggestion. I have some Dre jeans in a different wash.

  2. The outfit is flattering. The distressing on the jeans looks contrived and cheap. The colored running shoes look awkward but sometimes its impossible to find comfortable running shoes that are cute.
