hi rise jeans

Emma Roberts is delightfully turning out to be another one of our denim queens and we love it!

This week she was spotted out in Los Angeles, wearing a pair of the classic Citizens of Humanity high rise jeans, the Rocket. These jeans have been a classic for the brand for quite some seasons, and they are rockin’ hot (yes pun!). The ones Emma is wearing here are the cropped version – the Rocket Crop High Rise Skinny Jean. The wash is aΒ  blue vintage wash – CoH does this wash to perfection. The jeans feature an undone hem, which is almost cooler than just a frayed hem, and they are the perfect mix of 98% cotton and 2% spandex, which is my favorite kind of denim for skinnies.

For those of you who are constantly asking about recovery denim: in my long years of wearing skinny jeans, I never found any better denim than the 98%/2%. I am not saying that these are the best, only pointing out that for me this combination is top.

Back to Emma:-) She wore her jeans with a striped top from A.C.L, a grey tweed jacket, and a pair of very cool red suede lace-up booties from by Far, the Lada Leather Boots.

You can shop for the Citizens of Humanity Rocket jeans in different washes at Club Monaco and on the CoH website.

  1. She looks amazing! Every piece is perfect and it all works perfectly together. Not to mention she is perfect herself. I love the coat. It’s probably wool, but just in case it isn’t, do you know who made it?

I have never been able to find CoH jeans at a store and I don’t like to order things just to see them. I will try Club Monaco next time I’m in a store. I haven’t had your luck with 2% stretch jeans, maybe you aren’t spending your days sitting on the floor or I haven’t tried the right ones.

BTW, I recently saw a pair of beautifully embroidered) Faith Buffalo David Bitton jeans hold up to days of sitting and office wear without wilting at all. I wish they would start making my size! These jeans started out with a few more creases than I like to see in a new pair of stretch skinny jeans, but they seemed to be slightly less creased on day 3 than day 1, conforming to the body in a good way, which is something I have never seen happen with skinny jeans. These jeans, btw, do not stretch up and down, which is too bad because that would improve their smoothness. I give them 5 stars for recovery. 5 stars for embroidery. 4 stars for slightly too heavy light areas including the seat.Certainly the best recovery I have seen so far No need to size down in these. They don’t grow. They are not high rise so wearing them too tight would cause love handles.

  2. I love how Ma. Roberts styles her outfits a lovely pop of color with a mix of print! The jeans look amazing on her. I have a few pair of the rocket jeans and they are so comfy and are flattering.
