Just in time for the end of London Fashion Week, Google has partnered with one of the UK’s hottest young designers to create what they claim to be the world’s only “Really Blue” jeans.

Designed to match their new Pixel smartphone “Really Blue” edition, they’re the work of Cambridge-born designer Christian Cowan.

At just 22-years-old, the Central St Martins graduate has already designed outfits for some of the world’s biggest stars, including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus.

And fresh from his first runway show at New York Fashion Week last week, his latest brief has been to redefine what we think of our favorite fashion staple.

The jeans, modeled by Toby Huntington-Whiteley, who’s the brother of Rosie, and others, just have one pocket instead of the usual five. It’s the exact shape and size of the Pixel phone. Cowan designed the jeans in the bluest blue after scouring dye houses all over New York City to find an exact match to the phone cover.

That’s because Google says we do everything on our phones – so all you need to carry around is your phone (although what you do with your keys and wallet is another question). From taking photos, to paying for food and watching TV, smartphones like the Pixel save us the hassle of carrying round a myriad of gadgets.

And, seeing as fashion tech play such a vast part in our lives, it seems only natural that the two should collide cohesively.

And you too can get your hands on a bespoke pair, by contacting Christian directly. He’ll apparently give you a price upon the primary fitting. But if tech’s more your thing, the super limited edition “Really Blue” is also available to pre-order now.

  1. ridiculous over promotion! As usual, google fails to communicate. Lucky for them their search engine is good.

This campaign would have been so much better modeled by a smurf, with no sexuality and very few words.
