styling tips

What with the biggest denim trends now being cropped and unfinished hem jeans, the focus is shifting once again to the kind of shoes we are wearing with them.

After a few seasons of white leather Stan Smiths’, Superstars, Nike Air Force 1’s, and Vans’, I am totally ready for an urgent update. As a faithful Converse fan since college, I was stoked to find out about their newest launch: a clean white or black leather hi top with the Converse emblem embossed without any kind of red or blue, as in their trademark label. Totally minimalist and absolutely cool in a very laid-back way. These sneakers are going to add an extra edginess and coolness without the trying-too-hard side effect.

“CONVERSE unveils the Chuck Modern collection, a contemporary celebration of a Converse icon inspired by the brand’s 108-year old history. The Chuck Modern fuses Converse’s rich sports heritage with leading technology and innovation to create a sneaker collection that is modern, lightweight and an entirely new evolution to the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star family.

Chuck Modern Lux elevates Converse’s innovative new silhouette through a luxury lens. Offering superior details — a molded supple leather upper and embossed Chuck Taylor All Star patch — the Lux collection serves as a modern wardrobe staple. Additionally, the one-piece Phylon bottom with classic Chuck Taylor All Star details provides lightweight cushioning for all day movement.”

The Chuck Modern Collection launched today and is available at the Converse stores and online at for both men and women.

  1. Lux? Really? Pay extra for leather & get the same sneaker as usual, except now you can’t wash it?
