Citizens of Humanity Men’s introduces a Spring 2017 collection heavily influenced by the 80’s and 90’s. The collection is a culmination of emerging technology paired with artisan craftsmanship in its details and timeless design. Citizens of Humanity Men’s takes an elevated approach on vintage this season with a focus on all-American indigo and 100% cotton denim.

The Citizens of Humanity Men’s collection continues to develop the Premium Vintage capsule collection each season, with a stronger emphasis on rigid, heavier weight denim this Spring. The Premium Vintage offerings showcase the craftsmanship behind the label, which are all hand-sewn and finished. Drawing inspiration from the artisanship of the 80’s and 90’s, the garments have a clear vintage authenticity to them. The true orange-peel character in the garments are highlighted throughout the collection inauthentic vintage-inspired washes. The collection has implemented three key fashion concepts this season for the Premium Vintage collection.

The first concept is a focus on raw selvedge jeans made from 100% cotton unwashed denim with a clean sheen – a wardrobe must-have for the Citizens of Humanity man. Our narrowest fit, the Noah Skinny, continues to be an important modern jean for men in the contemporary market and is introduced in Premium Vintage washes for Spring 2017. Some stand-out raw finishes for men include a sleek black raw named Blackstone as well as a dark indigo Raw, both available in the Noah and Core fits. These dressier alternatives to classic denim exude a contemporary polished aesthetic.

Another concept from the Premium Vintage collection is “Vintage Revival” – a variety of vintage-inspired distressed denim with wash ranges from light blue to deep indigo. Heavier weight, rigid styles are complimented with fabrications utilizingcomfort stretch. These stretch fabrics bring a renewed interest in vintage denim for men, offering the comfort element that is most often lacking with vintage denim. Citizens of Humanity’s looser classic fit named the Rowan gives a nostalgic nod to the 80’s and 90’s, available in a number of new washes. New vintage blue shades are introduced this Fall including a dark blue wash named Mojave, a lighter blue hue named Oasis, as well as a deep indigo shade with a soft hand called Hesperia. The iconic Classic Jacket in Wilkes remains a part of the new season now available in two lighter washes for Spring.

The collection has also added a “Tonal Dressing” concept, an assortment of men’s separates in a neutral color palette. The tonal shades give a casual and sophisticated feel, offering a complimentary contrast to the deeper indigo styles for Spring. The Davis Chino is introduced this season which has an ultra-modern slim fit in a lightweight stretch twill fabric available in four muted washes.

The Noah Skinny Jean is now also offered in four new washes made from a twill fabric with a supple hand. A new addition to the Men’s collection are a range of t-shirts called the Jones, which pair nicely with every style from the Citizens of Humanity Men’s’ Spring collection.

Citizens of Humanity Men’s also introduces new styles to the Basics collection season after season. The range has been tapered down to showcase the best of our fit and wash assortment. Additionally, Citizens of Humanity Men’s has updated the branding to leverage the heritage of the brand name value and also mirror the masculine aesthetic of the Premium Vintage collection. Slimmer men’s fits such as the Gage and Noah continue to gain momentum from the Basics collection.

    • As I said in my post, you can check out the complete collection on their website. And just FYI – once more I am going to point out that lookbooks sometimes are about creating a certain feel about a collection and not necessarily about showing all products clearly. Most brands will show their products clearly on their website.
