distressed jeans

Jennifer Lopez rocked a pair of extremely tight fitting jeans as she was out in Miami with her hunky squeeze, Alex Rodriguez.

Her jeans are very body-enhancing and they fit her to perfection, even the bigger back-pockets of the jeans are very well placed. The jeans are in a medium wash and have quite a few rips along the front of the legs. And here is where it kind of turns me off them. The rips are too artificial, and I feel bad about this because otherwise they would have been THE perfect skinny.

Jennifer wore her jeans with a pair of very high stiletto Christian Louboutin Ottocarl Fringed Suede Booties, and carried a Louis Vuitton bag on her arm.

When buying ripped skinny jeans, check that they don’t feature rips that actually look like “manufactured” rips. Instead, go for more natural looking distressing and maybe even skip the rips. Especially when it comes to dark wash jeans. I believe that rips look more natural when the denim has a rather worn in look, maybe a medium wash or, for sure, a light blue vintage wash.

Check out some very “natural” looking ripped skinny jeans from Siwy, Articles of Society, and IRO.

skinny jeans

  1. It’s a cute outfit I love the jeans from the front. I don’t know if they’re very flattering from the back. The shoes and her bag are to die for though.

  2. The turtleneck looks good. I like the color and the fit. I like her hair. The whole outfit would be better if she tried a cute pair of trousers that don’t hug. The trouser jeans you showed recently might work too.
Cropped skinny jeans make legs look shorter. She can’t afford that from the front, and then from the back, we are looking at a large, probably surgically damaged, dumpy backside in an unflattering pair of jeans.. This is way too much information for us to be looking at.
The jeans have a halo effect on the seat and wide spread pockets, which exaggerate her figure issue. The fabric looks like it stretches horizontally, but not vertically, making things a bit worse. Had she worn a pair of skinny jeans all in one color that fit slim at the ankle but were hemmed below the ankle bone, the outfit would have looked better, provided that she wore a simple pair of loafers or simple pair of 2” block heels. The platform heels with the red soles exaggerate her short legs and low backside. Not to mention, the combo of these jeans and shoes is a dated and tacky look.
