double denim

Ashley Benson was seen out in Beverly Hills, clad in a double denim ensemble.

She wore a pair of very skinny cropped jeans with big rips on the front of both legs and some slight distressing along the ankles.

The jeans are in an all clean medium blue wash, but the brightness of the white threads of the rips look quite unnatural because the jeans are otherwise totally untreated. I have said it before and I am saying it again – medium or dark blue wash jeans without any further distressing except for huge artificial rips just don’t do it for me. FYI Ashley’s jeans are a pair of the J Brand Alana jeans, a perfect fit, but as I said… the wash …:-(

Ashley completed the double denim ensemble by adding an oversized denim jacket in a lighter shade of blue – a nice contrast to the darker wash jeans.

Completing her look with a Pam & Gela t-shirt (that’s the brand from the former Juicy Couture ladies) and a pair of Chloe Drew Boots in Leopard Print, Ashley looked great and very well styled. We love the splash of red of her Saint Laurent Monogram Medium Crossbody bag!

Check out here some ripped skinny jeans with a more authentic kind of distressing from Madewell, BLANKNYC, and MOUSSY.

  1. J Brand Alana jeans are flawlessly tailored, but with the sandals, she should go with the Marias , which have the same brilliant tailoring in a more flattering length for her.

She is at the size limit for looking good in skinny jeans which draw the attention to her lower body. The light blue jacket makes her look chunky because it ends at her hips.

I like the ripped Alana jeans. Rips like this are obviously not natural on any pair of jeans. These are rips as decoration or air conditioning. They work here because I see no bulging through the rips, which is amazing. Faux fade would have ruined these jeans and made her look heavier. The solid wash is perfect. I like the hems. Well done.

The red bag looks tacky with the light blue.

Even in JBrand jeans, no one looks good with lips like this. I hope this isn’t permanent filler.
