shredded jeans

As a denim editor/adviser/etc., I always check out everything that has to do with denim whenever I have a chance. Also, I have been reading your comments and know that you guys actually love to see “real” people showing their denim style, and not only celebrities and influencers.

I just happened to see these two street-looks and thought it would be cool to share with you.

The shredded bad boys in the image above make me itch to grab one of my old, slightly worn in boot-cut jeans, that I have not worn a lot ’cause they are just so , um, blahhh.. and take a pair of scissors to them. This is probably the most original way of shredding hems that I have seen in a long time, and totally do-able, even if you don’t think of yourself as a DIY-person!

The below image caught me because of the insane wash of the jeans. A greenish indigo tint, without being too green or artificial looking, like colored jeans usually tend to. I have not yet found a pair in this wash, so if you know of any, please post in a comment below!

Check out some cool bootcut jeans for very reasonable prices that you can “operate” on, if you don’t have a pair you want to “sacrifice”. And it should be a bootcut for a more dramatic effect which you wouldn’t achieve if you shredded a skinny.

Etienne Marcel, Miss me, Lucky Brand, and Levi’s.
