denim dress

I am not really a “dress person”, meaning, I prefer to wear jeans and denim shorts to dresses – usually. But I always wanted to find a kind of shirt-dress that doesn’t look like a plain long shirt, to wear with and over my denim. Hard task. Most of them look either like before-mentioned, or way too frilly and girlish, which is so not me.

Well, I was doing a research about denim dresses the other day for my post. I finished my research and, voila, it got posted.

And what happened after, is that a couple of days later, I spotted some – you know, cookies and all – pop-up of a really adorable dress on my laptop screen and I clicked on it. Tell me, who hasn’t done this before LOL!

And this time my laptop actually did “right”! It was a dress from Parker Smith, a shirt-dress, cool and simple but very sophisticated and in a shorter length without being a mini dress. I had been looking for a dress like this for ages. I did not want just a plain shirt-dress, but something a bit more “creative” and with some cute details, like the bell sleeves.

Like I said before, I wanted a dress like this to wear over my denim shorts, halfway unbuttoned, and also, yeah, to wear it over a pair of white skinnies that otherwise look just so boring blah.

This is going to be my perfect outfit for some summer fashion events that I will be attending in the next few weeks. Depending on the occasion, I plan to wear my cropped white skinnies, duly ripped and distressed, of course, with my platform Superga sneakers an a white tank-top.

And for an event in the evening, I am thinking of swapping the sneakers for the Jeffrey Campbell Cromwel Cutout Western Boot in snakeskin that I have just ordered online at Nordstrom. For both outfits – of course the pièce de résistance – this adorable chambray dress, casually unbuttoned or halfway buttoned. 🙂

Check it out for yourself, the dress is available now on the Neiman Marcus website.
