Welcome to fall, welcome to new leather – YES please, and hello J Brand!
I know that you know that we all unfortunately know it’s about to be fall like RN. Bet you’re getting those “reminder” e-mails in your Inbox as well, just like I do.
And once again – the best thing (and the only positive thing for me) about changing for the colder weather season, is that I have an “official” excuse to go shopping again. And especially leather shopping, something we have not had an excuse to do during the summer time.
But then again, another pair of skinny stretch leather jeans…. not really, we have been overdosing on these for the last few years.
So, of course, trust J Brand to come out with a new take on a pair of leather bad boys. Meet the MAUDE.
Keep the skinny silhouette, but, instead of running all the way skinny, make them fashionably and trendy straight leg:
The J Brand Maude is fitted through the thigh, and straight from the knee down, the happy medium between skinny and straight. Made from 100% crinkled lamb leather for a buttery feel with unique texture.
For those of you who are familiar with the J Brand’s Edita leather leggings from the past seasons (and included also in their new F/W ’17 collection), the leather of the Maude jean is slightly thicker and heavier, which is totally cool for a straight leg style. And another important difference is that the Maude has “real” front pockets, as opposed to the leggings.
Now about the fit:
The Maude runs absolutely true to size, so you can order your regular denim size and it will work out perfectly. The pants are in an ankle length and do have a finished hem, the inseam is 30″. They are a mid-rise and sit very comfortably exactly on your waistline.
And one more thing: after all my trade-show and showroom previews, I am totally convinced that the straight leg fit is going to be the new skinny fit. Already this summer has been all about the rigid hi-rise straight leg, right! 😉
J Brand has included this exact style in many different washes and if you are searching for new denim, the straight leg should be your choice.
