Hello all! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review here, and I’m happy to return with something completely new to me. Well, I guess not completely…any of you who are familiar with my reviews know that there’s nothing new about me and dark blue skinny jeans. Even though there are so many varieties of cuts, washes and fits, generally most of them fit in the same category. However, I’m pretty sure you haven’t ever tried a pull-on style jean either! That’s right. Forget the traditional five pocket jean with a zipper and button fly…read on for my Liverpool Farrah High Waist Pull-On Skinny Jeans in Dunmore Dark review.
As I said, these jeans are something special. I’ve seen pull-on jeans floating around the market here and there over the years, but it never seems to be a prominent style in the denim world. Maybe people haven’t been ready for it—but with this review, I hope to offer an alternative viewpoint that might change your minds! Liverpool reached out to me to review the Farrah High Waist Pull-On Skinny and I’m always down to try new styles, so I was excited to try them on. I got my usual size of 26, which turned out to work perfectly. I also have a curvier, more athletic shape than most models do, with a smaller waist and larger bum (I lift weights). These jeans don’t have belt loops, so that was another thing I was immediately curious about. My first concern was how tough they might be to pull up and over my hips, but with all the stretchy jeans on the market nowadays and super stretch fabric technologies, I had a good feeling this wouldn’t be a problem. Guess what…it absolutely was not! These are some of the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn.
The idea of an elastic waistband on a pair of jeans might bring thoughts of frumpy mom jeans, but the Liverpool Farrah High Waist Pull-On Skinny is anything but. It’s a beautiful sleek style that fits like a glove without being too snug, with excellent stretch recovery. Oftentimes, when someone with a curvier shape prefers a tighter waistband, it might be noted that the jeans cut into the belly a little without much give. These jeans flex and move with you, and snap right back to stay in place. Over a few hours of wear, they did break in a bit, as all jeans do, but I didn’t find myself pulling them up every few steps so the worry about the lack of belt loops soon dissipated. After this photo shoot I was marching through the supermarket and running a few other errands with confidence! Being a higher waist style, they sit comfortably up over my hips, which kind of prop them up a bit as well. As you can see, the high rise (which I’d say is either 9” or 10”) almost covers my bellybutton. Normally that can feel a little uncomfortable for me due to the usual button fly (and also because I have a piercing there), but this flat elastic waistband is thick, silky soft and stretchy enough to stay comfortable. The jeans have a fabric content of 41% Cotton, 27% Rayon, 31% Poly, and 1% Spandex for a super soft feel against the skin and a fit that moves with you in every direction. It is stretchy, but not too thin—and actually feels quite durable. The 28” ankle-length allows for easy tucking into boots in the fall or showing off a cute pair of shoes in the warmer months.
If you’re looking for a good-fitting dark blue skinny jean, the Liverpool Farrah High Waist Pull-On Skinny in Dunmore Dark is an awesome classic and extremely comfortable choice. You know the drill…these can go well with absolutely anything in your closet. Don’t be afraid of the lack of a button fly—this jean might just revolutionize the way you think about how a skinny jean should fit and feel!
