Denim jackets are a closet staple and there isn’t one of us who doesn’t already own one. But they’re all kind of pretty much alike, and we’d have a hard time identifying one or the other from different brands – with some exceptions, of course!
Alana Hadid (yes, from THAT family!) and Emily Perlstein are on a mission to change that. The stylists and friends have created La Detresse, a clothing line focused solely on creating quality denim jackets. Its first drop is out now: four hand-washed, hand-distressed, and hand-embroidered pieces, all of which are unisex and perfectly oversized (just like your favorite vintage find).
The line—available now online at ladetresse.com currently consists of four different styles, all of which are unisex and uniquely their own. From raw to super-distressed, each jacket is made in downtown Los Angeles and finished with bright orange buttons—a detail that will likely become the brand’s signature as they continue to grow. The only drawback – these jackets don’t come cheap with an average price of $450. 🙁
