What is better than a pair of classic Levi’s 501 jeans in an ultra-modern and trendy re-made style?! Nothing, zilch, nada! The 501’s are the oldest denim style around and have been adapted to the needs of the changing generations for more than one and a half centuries. And when Levi’s launched last year’s skinny version of the 501’s, I was in denim heaven.
But wait, more was to come, and here it is: the newest style of the 501 Skinny is even (more) cooler (is there such a thing LOL)!
The 501 altered skinny jeans are a remaster of an iconic design. Cut for a skinny fit with a slightly cropped leg, the jeans come in a faded black and vintage blue wash with distressed stitching on the pockets and abrasions on the front left leg for a worn-in finish.
The five pocket jeans sit high on the waist with full vertical seams running down the back of the legs for an elongated silhouette, while the outer seams are shifted forward for a flattering fit. Fastened with a Levi’s engraved button fly, the jeans in the vintage blue have a shadow effect patch on the rear waistband, “shadow stitched”.
And one of the best things – you could swear that these bad boys are made of rigid denim, but they aren’t. Made of 99% Cotton and 1% Elastane, you could never ever tell the difference to 100% rigid denim, but you can feel it on your butt and legs!
