If you are waiting for me to feature a darkblueskinnystretchjean here, then you can probably wait until for-ever LOL!
Not that I have an issue with these, it’s just that there is nothing for me to say about them. And anyway, who doesn’t already have at least two pairs in their closet!?!
This week it’s all about the refurbished wide leg jean from icon brand Levi’s. As opposed to summer, when we were all into rather fitted, cropped and frayed hem wide legs, for this season I much prefer an over-long and more slouchy fitting pair.
A perfect jean brought back from the old times, the vintage vibe is undeniable. We’re seeing a light blue faded wash, like our most beloved and used pair of jeans, and the inset at the inside of the ankles in an even lighter wash is totally in sync of how denim used to be worn in the 80’s and 90’s.
For the fall and winter time I would wear these with a chunky black turtleneck – oversized, of course, and some super cool platform boots. It’s a good thing that these babies come with a 33″ unfinished inseam! That’ll work perfectly also with us on the shorter side. Just make sure you don’t snip them off too short, the ideal length is almost dragging on the floor for this style.
Here is what Levi’s tells us about these jeans:
“Levi’s Altered epitomizes our approach to remastering classic designs in a range of essential, authentic finishes. This season, we’ve deconstructed and altered our most coveted styles to create one-of-a-kind pieces. This wide leg silhouette is a classic look that everyone is rediscovering right now. True to vintage style, we constructed this pair from non-stretch denim but then customized it for a fresh new look. To create an elongated silhouette and streamlined effect, we added full vertical seams to the back legs. We also shifted the outer seams forward to make this jean extra flattering from the front. Because we believe that design is in the details, we didn’t overlook the classic sundries. The Two Horse patch, normally at the back waistband, has been removed for a shadowed effect. As a result of the jean’s alteration, this “shadow patch” then became staggered for a unique, uneven effect. We’ve also removed the “acurate” pointed design, traditionally stitched on our back pockets, to create a “shadow stitch.”
